I’d like to call myself a recovering product junkie. Over the years, I’ve gotten more selective with my product choices and learned how to better shop for products that are more likely to work for my curls. I’ve been eyeing this brand for quite some time and am so excited that I finally tried it.
I purchased the Design Essentials:
Almond + Avocado Daily Moisturizing Lotion
Natural Defining Creme Gel
Coconut + Monoi Deep Moisture Mask
The Daily Moisturizing Lotion I used as a leave in. It smelled so good when I first opened it and it had amazing slip! After applying the product to my hair in sections, fully raking through my strands to ensure that my hair was soaking up all the goodness it had to offer, my hair was like butter and surprisingly SUPER defined and moisturized. I’m sure curlies with looser curl patterns could certainly use the product as a leave in + a styler it was that good.
With a base like that, I was super eager to use the Natural Defining Creme Gel. I haven’t always had the best luck with cream based gels as I find that they don’t always give me the strong hold I want/need, leaving my curls frizzy and lacking definition. But NOPE. Not this time. I had super moisturized and defined curls without day 1’s lack of volume. It was perfect for putting my hair in a pineapple which is how I wear my hair 80% of the time in the winter.
The Coconut + Monoi Deep Moisture Mask I found on sale and I’ve used quite a few times since I’ve purchased. It coated my strands well + gave me enough slip to detangle my hair after washing. When I rinsed it out, my hair felt clean yet extremely supple and defined with little to no frizz.
Design Essentials, they did their thing with this Natural line and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to give it a try. I can promise y’all they’ve easily join my staples club and will be on my quarterly repurchase list. Select the link above each product to purchase.
